When we are out of balance
We feel stuck
Whether it is our body, our mind or our soul that is feeling unbalanced, an awareness to these imbalances will essentially lead us to where in our life we feel stuck and where we can make some changes to become unstuck.
Ways we can all find ourselves stuck…
- Stuck in the same ole same daily routine
- Stuck in our habits & behaviors
- Stuck in our head
- Stuck in our life because anxiety drives our everyday choices
- Stuck in feeling like a victim to our current circumstances
- Stuck in blame or anger or any other emotion
- Stuck in feeling there is no way out or nothing can be done to change a situation
- Stuck in the “known” or the false illusion of safety
It is time to step back, open our minds to curiosity and see where we can bring some balance into our body, our mind and our Soul.
The benefits of opening our mind to curiosity
Opening to curiosity can release the power our old limiting beliefs and stories have over us
When we are curious we are ready to be open to new ways of doing things, new ways of being and open to creative solutions that we could not see before.
When we REMAIN curious, we develop a more flexible mind-set and can learn powerful lessons in our old stuck patterns, behaviors and stubbornness.
Whether we are stuck in our daily habitual choices, our mind of habitual thoughts, or stuck in the fear of change and the unknown, curiosity will allow us the ability to see beyond our limiting logical mind and connect us with our expansive creative intelligence.
When we consciously choose to remain in a state of curiosity of the many ways we can bring balance into our lives, we begin to experience positive changes in our life. A healthy energetic body, rewarding relationships, creativity, clarity of the mind, fulfilling work & personal growth are all just a few of the many benefits.
This week’s practice
Time to get curious and ask ourselves…
Where can I create balance?
- Routine vs Creativity & Spontaneity
- Structure vs Flow
- Work vs Rest & play
- Stuck vs Curious (closed mind vs open mind)
- Effort vs Effortless (doing vs being)
- Judgement vs Allowing
- Controlling vs Accepting
- With each point above ask yourself…”Do I need more (routine) in my life or (spontaneity & creativity)?”
- Sit with each point and listen to your thoughts and words around each point…
When we are stuck in our ego or more to the point stuck in fear – our thoughts and words are all around,,,
“I can’t…”
“I’ve always…”
“I’ll never…”
When we notice ourselves arguing for these limiting beliefs about ourselves – STOP – take 3 deep breathes and open to curiosity. Without judgement follow the story that follows these statements (I can’t… I’ll never… I always…) and if you remain aware, curious and open – this story will lead you to your limiting belief that is keeping you stuck. Stuck in fear of change, stuck in blame, stuck in victimhood, stuck in guilt of past life choices, and for many…stuck in anxiety.
This is the point of change
If you truly want to create balance in your life, this is where you now focus your attention. Bringing balance to this area, by choosing to change your action, your story line & thoughts and create a whole new chapter. You do this by aligning with your true self through self-compassion and self-love.
This week is all about taking those further baby steps towards what you want and who you want to be, by bringing curiosity and conscious awareness to where balance is needed in your choices for your body, your mind and your Soul’s alignment.
A few tips to help you along this journey…
- Stop comparing yourself to the “past you”. Everyone has the right and the ability to change and make different choices at any given moment. Essentially this is what our physical body is here on this earth to experience. Holding ourselves hostage to any unhealthy habitual patterns of our daily choices is not only unfair and self-sabotaging – it is keeping us stuck and creating imbalances in our body. If you need assistance in this area of your life, now is the time to seek the appropriate help.
- We are not the same person we were when we were 5 years old, we are not the same person we were at 15 years old, and we are not the same person we were yesterday. Life revolves around change – the sooner we step into change with curiosity and step away from our fears of the unknown with a willingness to embrace all that we don’t understand, the closer we align with our Soul. This is the balancing of our Soul.
- To bring balance to our mind, stop acting on old habitual thoughts patterns and make that shift into the new thoughts you created from last week’s blog post (refer to last week’s blog post for further steps)
This Week’s Intention Setting
“Today I choose to create balance in my life by…”
- Going with the flow
- Having more fun
- Moving my body more
- Creating a new routine for better health
- Creating structure with a silent meditation
- Making healthier food choices
- Getting myself to bed earlier
- Writing in a journal
- Seeking help and support
There are countless ways to set your intention this week – these of course are just examples, once you have figured out what areas need balancing in your life – set an intention for that day to do your best to create that balance.
Have an amazing week
