“True success is something we live, it’s not an end state we arrive at” ~Deepak Chopra
Whether you set a New Year’s resolution this year or not, we all have desires and wants. So, whether it is an intention for overall wellness this year, (exercise more, eat healthier, quit a bad habit) or an intention to manifest something you’ve always wanted (a new house, financial abundance, successful career, a great love, confidence, better health) This is the year to achieve these goals by redefining success.
We can not do the same thing and expect things to change!
Last week we reflected on our past year and asked ourselves some important questions. (Refer to last week’s blog for the full self-reflection talk and questions)
From that reflection inquiry you would have answered questions that would have helped you get to the root of your desires and intentions “What is important to me” and “who (or what) do I want to be”
This is an important step as this requires us to set these desires and intentions from our heart. Wanting a new house, a thinner-leaner-stronger-fitter body, more money, a new love are all great goals and aspirations to have. However, these desires come from the ego, which is not a bad thing, we want our ego to want these things, so that we have goals and intentions to set and desires and wants to manifest! To then take these desires from the ego and self-reflect with the questions “How will this desire make me feel” and “What is most important to me” brings us and our intentions into our heart so that we can get to the root of our desires. In other word, how does it FEEL to have this desire unfold? How do I FEEL when I am healthier, financially abundant, loved?
Then what?
Now that we have an intention that comes from our heart,
- Bring awareness (and acceptance) to the knowing that obstacles & challenges will arise for you throughout your day, get set to take
- Conscious action. Your choice of action will be required to move you through whatever arises.
- Whatever action you take will lead to your result. Will it be the result you desire?
Intentions are the stepping stones to success.
Therefore, here is our intention practice this week and a great habit to cultivate week after week;
- Sit in stillness and silence every morning (option to stand) for at least 5 minutes (set a timer). Hand on your heart. Visualize your physical body anchoring into the Earth. Silently affirm your intention for that day.
- Awareness. Ground your awareness into the knowing that many choices will present themselves to you throughout your day and that you are ready for anything. Breath…
- Conscious Action. Re-affirm now what it is you want, what is important to you and how you want to feel at the end of the day. Re-affirm these throughout your day as choices are presented to you.
- Evening time repeat #1 and reflect on your day. How does it feel to live this resolution/goal/manifestation, at the end of the day, end of the week and/or the end of the month? If your actions resulted an undesired outcome at the end of the day. Regroup and continue on tomorrow.
Remember, this is a practice and taking these important steps every morning and every evening will strengthen your intention setting practice and over time will expand your desires into a lifestyle and not just an end result to a resolution or goal.
This is how we start redefining success. It is time to shake things up and engage in 2022 with a whole different way of intention setting!
