A Path to Freedom

The brain is one of the most extraordinary organs in our body. It helps us navigate daily life – like driving a car, remembering where our keys are, learning new skills, making decisions and even keeping us alive through automatic functions like breathing, digestion and heart rate regulation.

The brain is the place where our mind comes to life. The mind is not physical – you can’t touch it or see it – yet it shapes our thoughts, feelings, imagination and awareness. The mind is also where all of our chakra energies flow into expression.

However, within the mind lives the ego-mind – that inner voice that judges, compares, separates, and spins fearful stories. The ego-mind thrives on fear, guilt, shame and conditioned beliefs. Left undisciplined, it becomes like a runaway train, recycling the past and convincing us that life is full of problems that need to be solved.

We’ve all felt this. The hamster wheel of endless thoughts. The inner critic. The stories that keep us stuck.

Michael Singer, in his book The Untethered Soul refers to this as our “inner roommate” introducing the concept of the “worst roommate” you’ll ever have – your own inner voice. The good news?

You are not this ego-mind! You can evict your inner roommate! Or better yet – make friends with your roommate and see if it will follow some disciplined new rules with you – some mind discipline!

A disciplined mind is a free mind.

When we learn to observe the mental mind chatter of this roommate rather than getting swept away by it, everything begins to shift. This is where mind discipline comes in – not through force, but through awareness. Again… A disciplined mind is a free mind.

For me, meditation and chakra work have been 2 very powerful disciplines I practice – they are my greatest teachers on this path to freedom;

  1. Meditation helps me detach from the chaotic stream of thoughts.
  2. Chakra work helps me uncover the hidden patterns, blocks and conditioned beliefs that the ego uses to keep me stuck and small.

Together, they move me from fear back into freedom, love and healing. I might add here that these 2 disciplines save me from my ego-mind on a regular basis. 😉

Mind Discipline #1 – Meditation

When we commit to a daily meditation practice, the brain begins to rewire itself. Meditation strengthens neural pathways associated with focus, calm and compassion, while quieting the stress-driven circuits of fear and reactivity. Over time, this discipline helps shift us out of old, repetitive patterns of thought and opens space for new ways of perceiving, feeling and creating.

Mind Discipline #2 – Understanding Your Chakra Energy System

Everything is energy.

This isn’t just a spiritual concept – it’s a scientific one too. Quantum physics has shown that when matter is broken down to its most basic form, it’s no longer solid – it’s energy. So, life isn’t about managing matter (people, problems, or things); it’s about understanding and balancing energy, especially your own.

Your energy is what determines the quality of your life. The vibration you emit is what you attract. When you understand this, you begin to see just how much power and influence you actually have.

Let’s simplify it:

Your energy is made up of your:

  • Thoughts
  • Beliefs
  • Words
  • Actions
  • Feelings

To transform any part of your life, you must begin by transforming these energetic components. As you shift your thoughts, beliefs and the way you speak and act, your feelings will begin to align – and your reality will follow.

Energy & Transformation

If you’re ready to create real transformational change in your life – whether in health, your relationships, finances, or simply the way you feel day to day – it begins with understanding your energy.

The chakra system is a powerful roadmap for understanding and balancing this energy. These seven centers hold emotional memory, patterns, habits and life experiences. When they’re blocked, we feel anxious, tired, stuck and definitely out of alignment. But when they’re open and balanced, life begins to flow again.

Here’s a quick look at each Chakra – when it’s balanced:

  • Root Chakra: safe, stable, grounded
  • Navel (Sacral) Chakra: creative, happy, healthy emotional flow
  • Solar Plexus Chakra: confident, empowered, know your worth
  • Heart Chakra: loving, grateful, compassionate, forgiving
  • Throat Chakra: inner truth, healthy communication, healthy self-expression
  • Third Eye Chakra: intuitive, wise, open-minded, insightful
  • Crown Chakra: clear understanding, freedom, connected to higher consciousness

When you bring awareness to these centers and learn to balance them, you awaken the ability to shift not just your energy, but your entire life.

This Week’s Intention

  • Start a daily meditation practice. 5 minutes to start (or add 5 mins to your current practice😊)
  • Set a daily intention – ask: How do I want to show up for myself and others today?
  • Practice being aware of the energy you bring into each space.
  • Notice your inner mental chatter without judgment.
  • Choose love and curiosity instead of judgment – for yourself, others and this process.

If you feel ready to connect deeper with these energy centers within you, I’d love to have you join our personal development community!

Namaste my friends;
Leslie 🙏💙
