Over the last two months I’ve been teaching a series called Everything Spiritual. I didn’t map it out in detail beforehand — each week unfolded in its own way. What I’ve discovered (again) is this: the more I teach, the more I learn. Teaching invites me to live the material, not just speak it.

Here is what has become crystal clear for me.

  1. We All Have an Ego – and We Need It – The ego is not the enemy. It helps us survive, organize, protect and navigate this human life. An unaware ego can feel reactive and out of control. But when we align it with the heart – when the heart leads – the ego becomes aware. And better choices follow.
  1. We Are Souls Having a Human Experience – We have an ego – but we ARE Soul. This is the most important relationship to recognize and nurture. When we intentionally connect with our heart space and get to know our Soul, we begin to lead from a steadier, wiser place. This takes commitment, presence and patience – but it changes everything.
  1. We All Have many Shadow-Selves – The shadow carries our fears, conditioning, emotional wounds, and protective patterns. It is not meant to be hidden, ignored or destroyed. It is meant to be seen and understood. When embraced, it softens. When ignored, it sabotages. The shadow simply wants to feel safe.
  1. We Have a Joyful Side Too – There is also a part of us that longs to relax, laugh, dance, watch a sunset in complete awe and remember the miracle of being alive.

Personal growth isn’t about becoming serious and spiritual. It’s about remembering our wholeness.

What I’ve come to understand most deeply is this: Healing happens through acceptance. Not because we “have to” fix ourselves or “should” change. But because when we truly love, honor, and respect all parts of ourselves, healthier choices become natural.

This is where embracing our challenges comes in. The ego and shadow resist challenges. They fight, control, blame, or collapse into victimhood. The Soul, however, can embrace challenges.

From a Soul perspective: Pain & Illness as Messengers

  • Pain is information.
  • Illness is communication.
  • Symptoms are messengers.

This does not mean blame. It means listening. Observing. Communicating with one’s body. We can gently ask:

  • What needs to be acknowledged?
  • What needs care?
  • What needs gentleness?
  • What are you asking me to see?

Body Image & The Scale – Many people are quietly at war with their bodies. From a Soul perspective, healing begins with:

  • Acceptance before action
  • Compassion before change
  • Listening before controlling

Acceptance is not giving up. It is ending the internal battle.

When we stop fighting our bodies and meet them with love, respect and kindness, healthier choices arise more naturally. The shift begins internally – not on the scale.

Difficult Relationships – When we are disconnected from the Soul, we:

  • Try to fix others
  • Abandon ourselves and our own needs
  • React from old wounds

Soul‑led relationships look different. They include:

  • Boundaries without aggression
  • Compassion without self‑betrayal
  • Truth without defense

We cannot control others. But we can choose how we show up.

This Week’s Intention

  1. Stop abandoning yourself
  2. Stop fighting parts of yourself
  3. Stop trying to eliminate what makes you human
  4. Stop trying to be someone you’re not

Instead. Pause. Breathe. Hand on Heart

  1. Connect with your Soul – your anchor.
  2. Notice your Ego without judging it
  3. Acknowledge your Shadow-self without shaming it
  4. Allow your joy without minimizing it.

When you lead from your Soul – you align with your wholeness and you;

  • Don’t need to control everything
  • Don’t need to fix anyone
  • Don’t need to be perfect

In a world that is shadowed by power, control, fear, doubt, money and shadow-selves ruling… Be present. Be honest. Show up in the wholeness of yourself. Lead with your Soul – it is your anchor.

And this is only the beginning. Because in the months ahead, we’ll explore what it really means to live by the natural laws the Soul already understands.

If you feel called to join the journey with me, reach out or register for the Personal Development Membership.

We are learning how to live from the heart. Living from the heart, reminds us that we are whole just as we are. And that changes everything.

Namaste my friends;
Leslie 🙏💙
