Living Life on Purpose: Showing Up with Intention
You may not be able to change what’s currently happening in your life – but if you’re willing to choose how you show up each day, that choice alone can create the biggest shift.
Purposeful Living
Living life on purpose.
Living each day, each moment, each breath – on purpose.
Let me be candid…
If you feel stuck in a never-ending loop of a negative life story and you want to get out of it – purposeful living is a powerful way to rewrite the script.
Many people think their purpose is about their job, career, or how they spend their time.
It can be – but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m inviting you to look deeper.
Your purpose isn’t so much about what you do – it’s about how you do it.
Purpose is in the way you show up to life. It’s found in the energy you bring to your relationships, your work, your healing… your breath.
What If Just Showing Up Is Your Purpose?
And what if how you show up leads you exactly where you’re meant to go – through breakthroughs, detours, challenges, or even dark places you didn’t expect? With each experience, a deeper understanding of yourself begins to unfold.
Let go of judging your past as good or bad, right or wrong. It does not define who you are today or your purpose.
Judgment – whether toward yourself or others – creates a veil. It clouds your perception and blocks clarity. You can’t possibly be open to a new way of seeing when you’re stuck in the illusion of judgment.
But maybe, just maybe… even that illusion is part of your purpose. Part of your soul’s journey.
If You Struggle, You Are Human
Struggle is part of the human experience. Your purpose might be in the struggle – in recognizing it, sitting with it and eventually finding your way through it.
And for clarity: when I say “struggle,” I mean anything that renders you feeling overwhelmed or victimized by life – whether emotional, physical, mental, relational, or spiritual.
This isn’t to minimize trauma or pain. If you’ve experienced deep suffering, I wrap you in love and compassion. Please seek the support you need. There is healing for you.
This blog is simply here to offer a different perspective. And that perspective starts with an open heart and a curious mind.
Three Soul-Expanding Possibilities to Consider:
-
What if… your soul chose this life to understand the experience of struggle?
-
What if… you came here not to understand it, but to fully experience it?
-
What if… your current struggle is part of a karmic cycle — and through surrender, you clear that karmic debt?
I believe if you’re willing to see differently, your soul came to learn, grow, and heal. You may feel like a victim at times, but you don’t stay there. You become responsible for your path, open to its teachings.
If you’re not willing or able to see differently yet – maybe you’re here simply to experience life as it is. And there’s nothing wrong with that either.
Living in Victimhood vs. Living on Purpose
Some live their whole lives feeling like victims. Others wear the martyr’s badge, trying to fix everything and everyone around them.
Both can feel familiar… even comfortable. And maybe that’s the soul’s chosen path for now.
But paths can change.
You could be 25 or 85 and suddenly feel ready to see things differently. Or not. Either way – it’s your journey.
We are not here to judge each other’s paths. We are here to walk our own with grace and compassion.
I didn’t always understand this – especially while raising my three daughters. I sometimes wish I had known then what I know now. But I let go of that judgment and extend compassion to my past self… and to everyone around me doing their best.
The Peace Behind the Purpose
We all make mistakes. We’re human. Lessons come when we’re ready. And every lesson learned leaves behind the sweet imprint of peace.
If my words guide you toward that peace – wonderful.
If they don’t resonate at all – also wonderful.
I’m just walking my own path… writing with intention, sharing what feels true – without needing you to agree.
Can We Be Real?
Can we disagree and still be friends?
Can we love each other?
Can we be strangers who respect each other’s journeys?
Yes, yes and yes.
We’re all here for our own reasons. Let’s honor that.
Still with me?
Want to Find Purposeful Peace in Your Life?
Here’s how to recognize it:
-
If you’re learning, loving, and flowing – even amidst the chaos – you’re living on purpose.
-
If you fall into struggle but stay open to insight, you’re still aligned.
-
If you descend into the darkest depths, and later resurface with self-awareness – that’s transformation.
And if you feel stuck in victimhood for now? That may be part of the journey too.
Some lessons take days, some take years. Some carry over into another lifetime. And that’s okay.
As Eckhart Tolle says:
“Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness.”
What I Hope You’ll Take Away
You have the power – right now – to shift from struggle to peace by choosing to see life through a new lens.
Even when life is hard. Even when it feels purposeless.
Even when nothing makes sense.
You can choose to show up differently. And that is purposeful living.
If You’re Ready…
Show up with a willingness to:
-
See people and situations with fresh eyes
-
Learn something about yourself
-
Think with your heart
-
Speak with love
-
Share your gifts
-
Forgive others
-
Forgive yourself
-
Feel your feelings fully
-
Release the need to fix
-
Become who you’ve always wanted to be
-
Find your balance and joy
Show up:
-
In gratitude
-
In enthusiasm
-
In love
-
In curiosity
-
In compassion
-
In awe
And above all – do your best to live each moment on purpose, in purpose and with purpose… whatever that may mean for you right now.
Namaste, my friends.
