The Art of Satisfaction:

A Satisfying Challenge for you this week

In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, have more and be more, finding satisfaction in any given moment can feel like a radical act. We are conditioned to strive, to want, to chase goals and to live in a state of never-ending expectation. But what if, for just this week, we practiced something different?

The Challenge:

Finding Satisfaction in the Present Moment

Can you pause and find satisfaction in this very moment? Not striving for more. Not regretting or dwelling in the past. Not planning, anticipating or worrying about the future. Just simply being satisfied with where you are, who you are, and what you have right now.

This is different than gratitude – although appreciation is always a great practice. This is about releasing the need to constantly push forward, even if it’s just for a few moments at a time. It’s about taking a deep breath, grounding yourself, and allowing the present moment to be enough.

Why Satisfaction is So Difficult (and So Important)

Many of us struggle with finding satisfaction because we are so accustomed to self-judgment, comparison, impatience and perfectionism. We analyze, we overthink and we believe that we’ll be happy when something changes – when we accomplish that goal, when that problem is resolved, when we feel we deserve it.

But what if you don’t need to change a thing in this moment? What if you could simply BE? What if you could simply be satisfied – no matter what is happening in your life?

True satisfaction comes from knowing that you are enough. You have enough. You are whole and complete just as you are. And even if you don’t fully believe that yet, you can start by simply practicing moments of satisfaction.

How to Practice Satisfaction

  1. Ground Yourself – Pause for a moment. Feel your feet on the ground. Take a couple of deep breaths. Connect with your body. Connect with the present moment. Feel your breath move through you.
  2. Observe Your Thoughts – Are they dwelling on the past? Are they racing into the future? Observe without judgment and gently bring them back to the now.
  3. Feel Satisfaction – Let go of the need to do, fix, or control anything. Simply allow yourself to feel satisfied with where you are, who you are and all you have, right now.

This practice is freeing. It removes the pressure of expectation and allows you to experience life as it is, rather than how you think it should be.

Everyday Moments of Satisfaction

You can take this practice into your daily life:

  • That first sip of coffee in the morning – pause and enjoy it. Say to yourself; this is so satisfying.
  • Watching the sunrise, the sunset or a snowfall – immerse yourself in its beauty.
  • The warmth of a hug, the laughter of a loved one, the quiet stillness of the evening – allow these moments to be enough.

A Mantra for the Week

“I am happy where I am and eager for more” ~ Abraham Hicks

Say it. Feel it. Live it.

Last week, I committed to this practice of finding satisfied in random moments. It was incredibly powerful in keeping me focused in the present moment. It helped me feel more centered, calm and grounded in my meditations too. Today, I’d like to extend this challenge out to you! Would like to join me in this mindful practice? It is not one I am planning on giving up – so no matter when you are reading this and no matter what is going on in your life – commit to beginning this practice now. If that is a big YES – then…

This is your Challenge for the Week;

  • Find satisfaction in both random and intentional moments.
  • Let go of expectations.
  • Embrace life as it is.

Enjoy this practice. It could be the practice that changes everything for you!

Namaste my friends;

Leslie
