DEATH

What if death wasn’t quite as scary or as final as we humans often make it out to be? Death is a reality of the human experience. The death of the human self happens to everyone. It can happen at any age. To the young and the old. To the healthy and the sick. None of us are promised tomorrow. Some people receive warning that their time is nearing. Others do not.

Death has much to teach us human beings.

While many of us fear it, avoid it, or prefer not to think about it, doing so only gives those fears more power. Contemplating death is actually a healthy way of facing the reality of life.

In my opinion, death may be one of our greatest teachers.

It reminds us that;

  • Our time here is limited.
  • That this moment matters.
  • That the people we love matter.
  • That what we do with our lives matters.

Death has a way of helping us pay attention.

We often think of death as taking life away. But if we step back and look at the bigger picture… could death actually give more meaning to life? Imagine how present you would be today if you truly knew tomorrow wasn’t guaranteed.

Below is the direct quote from Michael Singer’s book, The Untethered Soul, that I mentioned in the video above;

“Let’s say you’re living life without the thought of death, and the Angel of Death comes to you and says, “Come, it’s time to go.” You say, “But no. You’re supposed to give me a warning so I can decide what I want to do with my last week. I’m supposed to get one more week.” Do you know what Death will say to you? He’ll say, “My God! I gave you fifty-two weeks this past year alone. And look at all the other weeks I’ve given you. Why would you need one more? What did you do with all those?” If asked that, what are you going to say? How will you answer? “I wasn’t paying attention…I didn’t think it mattered.” That’s a pretty amazing thing to say about your life. Death is a great teacher.”

~~Michael Singer

Your human self has one life to live.

Is your human truly living?

If not, it is not too late to start…

  • Say what you need to say
  • Be kind
  • Speak from your heart
  • Do what needs to be done
  • Release what no longer serves you.
  • Forgive where you can
  • Follow your heart
  • Trust your intuition.
  • Be present
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Love deeply.
  • Laugh often.
  • Hug a little tighter.
  • Believe in yourself
  • Take care of your human!!!

And most importantly… don’t wait for some future day to begin truly living.

Namaste my friends;
Leslie 💙🙏
