“When everything is lost, and all seems darkness, then comes the new life and all that is needed.”
~ Joseph Campbell
Being human in this school of life is complicated and challenging. Especially if your Soul is seeking your attention and crying for you to listen, change or bring some light to what you are trying to keep hidden.
The dark nights of the Soul are a time of facing and meeting head on what is most painful, challenging or uncomfortable in your life. In every challenge there is a lesson. In every lesson there is a “light bulb moment” of clarity and ultimate growth.
Each “night” there is a lesson and when you learn it, you bring light to it and grow as a human being and evolve to the next level within this Earth school. When you don’t learn it – the nights get long & repetitive and life can begin to feel empty or possibly even meaningless. One can wonder “What is this life really all about?”
It feels as if we can all relate (to some degree) to having to face some sort of obstacle in our life right now. Whether it’s a health crisis, a major change in your life, a divorce, aging parents, bankruptcy, losing someone you love, overcoming physical pain or addiction or even simply dealing with all the different ranges of emotional pain – we all are facing some sort of a challenge or some sort of “dark night of the Soul” experience.
Maybe you have had a rough year, a terrible month or a few really bad days. Maybe not though -maybe right now – life is flowing pretty good for you.
Either way – life goes in cycles and the ebb and flow of life is a part of the process of living this human experience. This life is the “school” in which your Soul attends and if you are facing some tough lessons right now – these dark nights of the Soul require a few important awareness’s.
- Feel whatever you are feeling.
- Accept whatever you are experiencing.
- Release all judgements of yourself & others.
- Surrender it all a greater power.
- Take care of your energy.
- Take care of yourself.
Self-care is essential.
When facing your toughest challenges – life can and will throw you out of alignment. When I say “out of alignment” what I mean is you are out of alignment with your Soul. This is painful – in so many ways. Being out of alignment with your Soul leads to making less than healthy or positive lifestyle choices, it disconnects you from your heart and from important people in your life. By making your self-care a priority though, this alignment with your Soul begins to shift back to it’s natural state. There truly is no better feeling than bringing yourself back into alignment with your Soul – especially when you have been disconnected from this part of yourself for a while. Feeling your emotions, accepting life circumstances and surrendering to a greater force is a great good start. Next you need to take care of you!
Align with the intentions of your Soul and love, honor, accept and respect yourself fully and completely;
- Take care of your human body; with good wholesome food, daily energy work, movement, stretches and regular sleep patterns.
- Take care of your human mind by listening to self-improving podcasts, positive affirmations & impressions and phase out the negative chatter and influences around you. This will allow you to observe & understand how your mind operates!
- Align with your Soul by quietly listening for it’s messages. You can do this with with regular meditations, communing with nature or animals and listening in stillness to the sound of silence.
December tends to bring with it a time of reflection. Whether you are ready to put 2024 behind you or you are excited for what 2025 is going to bring – allow yourself some time to;
- Reflect.
- Rest.
- Play.
- Laugh.
- Feel…EVERYTHING.
- Connect with loved ones.
- Be still.
- Accept.
- and most of all to LOVE.
Love yourself and others from the depth of your heart. It really is the only way to “pass” through any dark night of the Soul in this life school.
Namaste my friends, breathe deeply, be still and find the alignment with your Soul;
Leslie
