A Note Before You Listen…

This week’s Simply BE is actually an original Tap In recording from June 2022.

Back then, I called these weekly videos Tap Ins because we would finish with movement and EFT tapping. (Many of you may remember those days! 😊)

I’ve chosen to leave the video exactly as it was recorded because I think there’s something beautiful about looking back and seeing how our understanding evolves over time.

Although I might explain some of these concepts a little differently today, the message remains exactly the same.

In fact, as I’ve been revisiting these older recordings throughout the summer, I’ve been reminded that some wisdom is truly timeless.

I’ve updated the accompanying blog below to reflect how I would share this teaching today, while honoring the heart of the original Tap In.

I hope you enjoy both.

One of the most beautiful teachings of Ayurveda is that; our natural state IS balance.

Just like nature, we are constantly adapting.

  • Sometimes we need more rest.
  • Sometimes we need more movement.
  • Sometimes we need more structure.
  • Sometimes we need more freedom.

Balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about listening.

When we lose that balance, life can begin to feel… stuck. Not because something is wrong with us. But because some part of ourselves is asking for our attention.

It could be;

  • Our body asking for more nourishment.
  • Our mind asking for more peace.
  • Our heart asking us to soften.
  • Our Soul gently inviting us toward a different way of living.

When we feel out of balance, scattered, anxious, overly emotional or heavy… rather than asking“What’s wrong with me?”

Ayurveda’s wisdom invites us to ask“What part of me is asking for balance?”

I’ve personally discovered that question changes everything.

Instead of judging ourselves… We begin listening.

Instead of resisting… We become curious.

Curiosity opens doors that fear keeps closed.

When we’re curious, we become willing to see new possibilities. We begin noticing habits that no longer serve us. Thoughts we’ve been believing. Stories we’ve been repeating. Patterns we’ve simply accepted as “who we are.”

Curiosity gently reminds us… the just maybe, there is another way.

A Gentle Reflection…

Where in your life might you be asking for a little more balance?

Perhaps in the balance between two opposites. For example balance between;

  • Routine and spontaneity
  • Doing and simply being
  • Work and rest
  • Structure and flow
  • Effort and ease
  • Judging and allowing
  • Controlling and accepting

Notice which side feels familiar… And which side might be asking for a little more attention.

This Week’s Invitation

Rather than trying to tackle and change everything… Choose one small way to bring yourself back into balance. Below are a few suggestions;

  • Spend time in nature.
  • Move your body.
  • Prepare a nourishing meal.
  • Go to bed a little earlier.
  • Sit quietly in stillness or meditation.
  • Write in your journal.
  • Laugh a little more.
  • Ask for support.

Balance isn’t created through perfection. It’s created through small, conscious choices made over time. Each one gently guiding us back toward ourselves.

Stay curious, my friends.

Stay open and… Simply BE.

Namaste;
Leslie 🙏🩵
