Physical wellness is the most important aspect of your life’s journey.

Just as you would make sure your vehicle is in good shape to take on a long road trip – you need to make sure your physical vehicle (body) is in good shape for this long life journey.

What good is financial wealth, meeting the love of your life or achieving career success if you are not healthy enough to enjoy it all?

Not to mention the stress that chronic and acute pain or illnesses puts on one’s mental and emotional health.

We all know we need to move our body, stretch our body, feed it good wholesome food and get sufficient rest and sleep but are we making it a top-notch priority in our life?

  • Do you carve out time to do these things for yourself?
  • Do you make sure everyone else in your life is taken care of first and put yourself on the bottom of that list?
  • Do you set the intention to do something and then it shifts into “If there is time at the end of the day – I will do it” only to find yourself exhausted and falling into bed or instead choose to numb out in front of the TV?
  • Do you start your day with good intentions and then somewhere along the way talk yourself out of it?

Having good intentions to take care of yourself is simply not enough.

Your willingness to put yourself and your health at the top of your priority list is crucial!

Having good intentions isn’t enough – willingness is everything.

You need to be willing to;

  • Move your body
  • Stretch your body
  • Eat whole and healthy foods (80% of the time)
  • Learn natural ways to sleep deeper (vs sleeping aids)
  • Ditch old patterns, habits and excuses.
  • Make time for YOU
  • Learn ways to manage stress
  • Make all of the above non-negotiable

Especially when;

  • Your mind is giving you every excuse not to.
  • You hurt because you are so tight (or injured)
  • Cravings hit.
  • Stress happens and every obstacle in your way seems to derail your every good intention.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone – however if you make your health a priority starting now – the quality of your “today’” will improve and you will notice a significant shift in your life.

Discipline your mind to get past your excuses.

Where, when and how do you start?

  • Start anywhere!
  • Start NOW!
  • Go for a walk
  • Stretch your body,
  • Sign up for a workshop,
  • Join a gym or studio
  • Better yet…sign up with me (Wellness Defined) to do any number of classes – in the comfort of your own home.

Do 5 mins of some sort of movement right now! Then do 5 mins of stretching! Then do it all again in a few more hours

Decide right now to go for a walk every day after dinner. You decide how long – make it a short walk if you must – but GO!

Keep the mindset of movement, stretching and “no excuses” flowing! Give yourself the love you deserve! If you have a regular physical routine already – switch it up! Do something new, something you haven’t done before.

In order to reboot your life you need to be willing to do things differently.

If I have managed to inspire you to take your health into your own hands – then the path is clear for you now.

If you are currently a member of Wellness Defined, then I encourage you to utilize as many of the classes offered, to fit your physical needs, challenge yourself and heal your body.

If you are currently not a member than I encourage you to sign up for a free week – to get you started on your physical wellness journey (free week start Oct 2nd)

Click here for all the details and to register; https://wellnessdefined.ca/wellness-defined-free-week/

If you have never considered or tried on-line classes this is a perfect time to try it out – who knows – you might love the fact that you can roll out of bed and do a class every morning – you can easily start with half a class and work your way up. You might love doing an evening yoga class and then rolling back into bed and receiving the best night’s sleep.

You do not need a large space or lots of equipment. A mat, a few weights (or cans of soup to lift), pillows and blankets for yoga can be enough to get you started. If you continue, there is always the option to add more workout toys to your space.

The point is to show up and move, stretch and get past the excuses of your mind!

This Week’s Intention

  1. Make the time to prioritize a physical activity into your day.
  2. Do at least one (extra) thing each day to move, stretch or challenge yourself physically (getting past the procrastination is a big win!)
  3. If you’re a member – try a class you haven’t done before and if summer has put a wrench in your wellness routine – here is your nudge to get yourself back on track!
  4. If you are not a member – sign up for the free week of live classes and/or recording now! (starts Oct 2nd)

Why on-line classes? Why not?? You don’t need a lot of space or equipment. You don’t need to drive anywhere. If you want to do 15 mins you can do 15 mins – most people wouldn’t leave a class in a gym – even if they are hurting or not able to keep up – at home you have control over it all. You get to learn at your own pace. Once you get your mind on board and you commit to daily movement – there are so many fun options for you, which will make it easy to workout at home.

Even if you have a current gym or studio membership – try the free week. Incorporating a different style of class (or meditation) into your week can be a great compliment to your life. You will never know what you are missing unless you try it. And if you have been a member previously – give it another try – some changes have been improved upon along the years.

It has recently come to my attention that many people do not fully understand all that Wellness Defined offers – check out all the classes and class descriptions here plus membership options. and as always contact me at leslie@wellnessdefined.ca if you have any further questions!

Namaste;

Leslie
